| Firm Background Stewart~Washmuth & Co., (SWCO) was formed in 1992 as a Landscape Architectural partnership between Edward E. Stewart and Larry R. Washmuth. The goal of SWCO was and still is to provide quality landscape architectural design services to the West Coast of Florida. In 2003, the firm incorporated to form Stewart~Washmuth & Co., Inc, Landscape Architects. The two founding partners remain one hundred percent committed to producing quality design that functions within a practical world. The size of our firm guarantees that each client will have one or both of the principals deeply involved in all aspects of each project we undertake. During our 39 years of local experience, we have assisted both public and private clients in achieving their goals. Since the establishment of Stewart-Washmuth & Company, Inc. in 1992 we have offered complete site planning, landscape design and irrigation consultation for large or small commercial properties, residential communities, governmental, park and recreation projects. SWCO also provides design services for single family home sites. Ed Stewart and Larry Washmuth have impacted southwestern Florida by being involved in a myriad of high profile projects. In these projects, SWCO provided site planning, entrance designs, sign systems, landscape lighting, water features, special paving designs, water-wise irrigation design, water management and sustainable landscape design. Design emphasis is given to Environmentally Sustainable Design, Florida Friendly Landscape Design Principles and LEEDs Certification. Four current projects that have been designed for the LEEDS Certification include: the Mosaic of Florida Operations Center in Hillsborough County, Ringling College of Art & Design Student Housing Building, Ringling College of Art & Design’s new Academic Building and an office building in Sarasota, Florida. |

FIELDS OF COMPETENCE Landscape Architectural Design, Land Use Planning, Site Specific Planning, Irrigation Design, Landscape Development Design, Landscape Construction Design and Detailing, Technical Specifications Preparation, Project Management, and Contract/Construction Administration. BACKGROUND Ed Stewart has thirty-nine years of experience in dealing with the various facets of Landscape Architecture, Planning, Park Planning, and Irrigation. This experience has included both government and private sector work, with the last thirty-six years being in Sarasota, Florida. He has been responsible for numerous comprehensive new community planning projects in which he prepared detailed site development plans incorporating extensive street and common area irrigation. Ed has had projects in North Carolina including Crabtree Bald, Wildflower, Panther Ridge, and Posey Flats, a handicapped accessible fishing park. Over the years, Ed has been involved in the preparation and approval process for numerous land use and planning projects throughout Florida and in Western North Carolina. These have included the coordination and preparation of DRI/ADA submissions for the Four Corners Mine (Polk County), Maple Leaf Estates (Charlotte County), Jacaranda (Sarasota County), Lake Tarpon Villages (Pinellas County), and Spoonbill Bay (Manatee County).
