Landscape Architect
University of Florida
Bachelor of Landscape Architecture, 1970
BACKGROUND
Mr. Stewart has thirty-five (35) years of experience in dealing
with the various facets of Landscape Architecture, Planning, Park
Planning, and Irrigation. This experience has included both
government and private sector work; the last thirty-three (33)
years being devoted to planning and development in the private
practice sector in Sarasota, Florida. He has been responsible for
numerous comprehensive planning projects that have resulted in the
preparation of detailed site development plans. Ed is also
responsible for the operation of their office
in Franklin, North Carolina, dividing his time between both
the Franklin and Sarasota offices.
Over the years Ed has been involved in the preparation and
approval process for numerous land use and planning projects
throughout Florida as well as Condominium and residential
community projects as noted herein. Most recently Ed has
helped developers with in depth analysis of existing tree canopy
prior to development and alternate solutions for tree mitigation
issues with various reviewing agencies.
At the request of the Department of Landscape Architecture,
University of Florida, Ed spent an academic year on campus
teaching Landscape Architectural Construction to junior and
graduate program students. The course work included earthwork,
survey, highway alignment, retaining walls, wood construction,
irrigation, layout & design. The course syllabus and all
testing was prepared by Ed.
The deep appreciation Ed holds for the natural environment coupled
with the State wide concern over the efficient use of water has
lead him to specialize in the total design of irrigation systems.
A comprehensive approach to irrigation design solutions includes
planning for the future through the use of innovative, proven design
techniques and controls to meet the expectations of
the client while conscientiously meeting the long term needs of
the future through water management.
